
Monzo
Monzo needed a fresh, compelling way to communicate the benefits of its "Get Paid Early" feature. The ads had to stand out in crowded social feeds, capture attention instantly, and highlight the product's value in a clear and engaging way.
The objective was to craft three distinct static ad concepts that:
- Drive engagement by using a thumb-stopping visual or headline.
- Feel native to social media, blending seamlessly into users’ feeds.
- Feature Monzo’s branding by incorporating the app interface or physical card.
- Encourage sign-ups by clearly showcasing the convenience of getting paid early.
After researching Monzo’s and competitors’ existing ads, I designed three ad concepts, each optimized for different aspect ratios (1:1, 4:5, and 9:16). My approach included:
- Using humor and relatable scenarios to make the ads feel engaging and shareable.
- Incorporating dynamic visual elements (while keeping static execution) to create a sense of movement.
- Ensuring UI-safe zones were respected for a clean, polished look.
- Highlighting the instant impact of getting paid early with clear messaging and strong CTAs.
This project showcased my ability to balance brand identity with conversion-focused design, ensuring the creative was not just visually compelling but also strategically effective.
